Differential Mode Choke
Used in switch-mode power supplies to reduce AC-line-conducted interference.
Common Mode Choke
Used in switch-mode power supplies to reduce the high-frequency electrical
noise between any two supplies on out lines.
Output Power Inductor
Used in the output inductor capacitor (LC) filter section of switch-mode power
supplies to reduce the magnitude of ripple current on the output.
Flyback Transformer
Stores energy. Energy stored in the primary winding during one portion of
the switching cycles is transferred to the load by the secondary winding
during the alternate portion of the switching cycle.
Uni-Polar Transformer
Converts the supplied DC voltage and impedance level to
another level. The current of uni-polar transformer flows simultaneously in
both the primary and secondary windings during one potion of the switching
cycle. The magnetic core of the transformer is reset with a clamp winding
during the alternate portion of the cycle.
Bi-Polar Transformer
Converts voltage and impedance level of the DC
power to another level. The current of bi-polar transformers flows
simultaneously in the primary and secondary windings. The bi-directional
excitation delivers power to transformers and resets it.
Current Sense Transformer
Controls circuits that change the input current to a different level of
output current.
Driver Transformer
Triggers the base of bipolar transistors or FET gates.
